Beautiful car and wonderful trip and journey ahead. Congrats!!.. I've been to the Amalfi Coast many times and was married in Ravello a few years back. I am pretty familiar with that area. If you need any dining suggestions please let me know.

    Ciao

would you happen to be somewhere around lake maggiore near cannero?

I am here on vacation with my partner and I could have sworn I heard an early 911 being "exercised" around 7pm tonight.

Yes, it's a ROW car delivered new in Genoa. And it's carbureted. But they're Zeniths. Weren't they all?

We actually do have a free night in Milan near the end of our trip. Would love to meet up. I'll PM you both.

Wasn't me. Must have been some other incredibly lucky guy. Nice to know there are more than one of us.

We made the run from Milan to our villa in San Giustino Valdarno (near Arezzo) on Friday in about 3.5 hours. Most of it was on the A1 so not the most scenic route (although the second half was better than expected). The car ran like a champ the entire way.

Today's my wedding day and I plan to start it with a spirited run through the surrounding countryside. Assuming a successful union this evening (my mates have the odds set at 3 to 2) we'll be heading out on the honeymoon tomorrow. First stop is Positano and the locals are telling me the driving is going to be excellent.

I'll leave you with a couple quick shots taken at our villa.

And thanks to all for the kind wishes, suggestions and offers of assistance. More to come...

best wishes with the impending nuptials and the car.

I've found myself thinking what it would be like to do a lot of the roads we've travelled in my swb.

    you are living that dream!

Awesome, JP --- great shots! Now . . . pass the camera to The Missus --- let her have a go

    Or maybe let her drive?

Blows me away how un-crowded Europe looks in your pics --- even the gas stations. Here? --- I only have the roads to myself in the middle of the night. Beautiful weather you're having, too, looks like

And what do the Italians make of you two ---- + your car? I'm always reading about how car-crazy everybody is

    Great stuff! . . . more, please

    .........

I will never complain about the price of pump gas again.

    Splendid thread!
You're a very hard act to follow John.
