    Side mirror help please !!

Building my 72 3.8 g50 911 ....well actually paying people to build it with a lot of input from me ( for you lawyers out there).
Need some advice on side door mirrors that are actually functional. Like the stock R/L side mirrors or a set of Talbots . Not one thing remains untouched or not fabricated but would like some advice from those of you out there with modded early 911's. Pixs appreciated !!!
    Thanks
    Marc

If you want usable, forget Talbots and even Durants. The early chrome flags actually work and they are right for the era.

...if you place them in the right spot ;-) I'm sure 99% know this, but the passenger one, if you want one, should sit further back and NOT where the door's stamped holes suggest.

Thanks... Very helpful. Leaning toward the stock flag mirrors even with the mods.

Holy crap, keep us posted, this build is going to be sweet. I would love to hear more about the 3.8 you are using.

Thanks...taking our time but lots and lots of detail (all stainless oil cooler lines built into the rockers etc). Rothsport built the motor. Working out the fit and finish of the bumpers now as well as a gas tank that will fit under the front strut bars.

There are (finally) excellent aftermarket right side 72/73 mirrors, if you want to be 'true.' But the 74/75 mirrors are 1. better for seeing around you and 2. use the exact same mounting holes and base gaskets; so are interchangeable with the 72/73 style should you change your mind either way.

BTW: exciting build. love the color in the frunk.

lol..yeah..eventually get that color to the rest of the car. Original mirror location not important but I understand there are some very good 72/73 repos available. My goal was to try and keep a lot of the early 911 look and feel without doing a lot of what has been done already. No duck tail , or IROC from bumper but a lot of custom features invisible to the untrained eye but well recognized by the early porsche guys. We have been working hard on this for a while and I sure hope to be driving it sometime next year.
