What is awful about these threads... 90s R Gruppe, this one, the Targa thread, and the "Gone to the Dark Side" is that it makes a guy want one of each. I have a 997S, and would love a GT3, and while I never considered a 996, I'd love either a 996 or 997 GT3. So many cars, so little money.

Not to worry, just start a thread on 3.0CS and have us all hot under the collar for one.

I used to own a 996 GT3 Mk1, 9000 kms, fantastic car. But I was afraid to drive it so I bought some old bangers instead. As far as collectors values are concerned I thinks a Mk1 Clubsport is the affordable one right now. But the 996 GT3 RS is the RS that will be next in line after the 964 RS, and this one had a price explosion 20 years after its launch. Problem is that the regular GT3 may be 'forgotten' since it's not a real RS and the value will only be in the RS cars in the end. On the other hand, the 3.2 Clubsport was not an RS but is also highly collectable.
