Correct. But after years owning and being 'owned' by an early 928, I wouldn't trade for an AMG or other, strange as it may sound. Mostly aluminum, and fairly light. The pushrod motor in mine needed roughly $87 for a rebuild.

Real wide tires tend to ruin these cars. It's unfortunate the majority came black or red. Lt blue or silver are kind of rare.

The most appealing part of being a part of the 3_8 fratello hood is doffing the silver nylon jacket with F E R R A R I festooned down the length of the sleeve.

    Have you priced:

275GTB/4, 365GTB/4 Daytona, 330GT, Lusso... 3.0CSL, Aston Martins, Jags etc. Most of these have leather interiors, radios and even electric windows and some even have AC.

I will not mention Gullwings, 356 Coupes and even our 911s...

"A grand tourer (Italian: gran turismo) (GT) is a performance or luxury automobile capable of high speed or spirited long-distance driving. The most common format is a two-door coupé with either a two-seat or a 2+2 arrangement.

The term derives from the Italian phrase gran turismo, a tribute to the tradition of the grand tour, used to represent automobiles regarded as grand tourers, able to make long-distance, high-speed journeys in both comfort and style. "
    Nice definition.

The 550 is certainly a GT and the one to buy at the moment.

A manual 599 would be an interesting car to find also, the last of the classic Ferrari:
    - V12
    - Manual gearbox
    - Front engine.

I would say that the article is "one answer", hardly the definitive one as my experience has not been the same as the authors. My various F-car ownership stories have all been very positive and unlike any other marque.

True, the 550 is a fantastic car with comparatively low operating costs. Grossly undervalued at this point in time, IMO.

I never think much about Ferrari, other than early models should have been produced in higher numbers. A nice clean car like this would be enjoyable to view on the road once in a while.
