I'm not crazy about the look of the new Alfa 4C, which is about the same price as the Mustang, but one thing that does get my attention is that it weighs 2465 lbs! Light enough for it's 237 hp engine to keep things entertaining. I wish Porsche was making a lightweight car that was more in keeping with the historical precedent set in the 50s, 60s and 70s for keeping their cars lightweight, efficient, and more simple. What happened to the giant killer concept?
Sadly, Porsche has become the "giant" to be killed.

But seriously, what tires, what suspension mods... if it in fact turned 7:32, it wasn't the car you will soon be able to go in to your local Ford dealer and buy.
If the Z/28 can do it in 7:37 in the wet(on its semi-slick Pirellis), I wouldn't doubt the GT350 getting close to those times. The times they are a changing. If you would have told me ten years ago that the new Cadillac ATS that I just purchased would have a turbo 4, RWD and better steering and chassis feel than my last M3-I would have laughed.

I highly recommend that everyone read the Peter Falk interview in Excellence. I came away with the impression that Porsche has forgotten the past. A very talented and smart man.

(He doesn't like the Panamera either which means his tastes must be impeccable.)

Amen...... this was the beauty..... simplicity..... I still find a simple lightweight to be the most appealing.....

I like those cars and they return excellent fuel economy. That being said-the new little Caddy will run off and hide from it on any road you could pick. Weird times indeed.
