    iPod/iPhone/MP3/aux and Frankfurt

I'm sure this has been covered but...

Anyone have a proven combination of amp and discreet box speakers that's stealthy?

Location for speakers would be on the floor behind front seats.

    Thanks.

Hi Frank, I was at the Apple store the other evening and they had
a speaker "tube"? that connects to the i-pod/radio wirelessly.
Looked like a neat idea, very compact, no holes to drill, you can remove it from the car and it has a 50ft range, not to mention great sound clarity.
I didn't pay anymore attention to it because my project is so far from completion.

Most becker and blaupunkt radios of the period have a din I out plug on the back, typically used in the day for a separate cassette player.....easy to make up an adopter that allows a line level input mini plug that works with the iPod headphone jack. Ideal? , maybe not, but it works, uses the existing equipment with no new holes or external amps or other devices. Bit gets the job done. You can buy the din plug and adapter cable from becker or on ebay.

    Thanks Lewis.

In a perfect world the stock Frankfurt will be nothing but a pretty, non-functioning figurehead; much like ME in my business.

    My dream:

    Wireless speaker as Peter mentioned.
    Remote mounted 50-100W amplifier.
    Small, very discreet control panel.

With all of this the driver should have very good audio by using his iPhone.

At this point all of the control panels I've seen remind me of a Motorola 8000 cellphone.

    Bueller? Bueller?

    Lewis,
Funny; 2 audio shops and you have suggested this same unit. The controls appear to have been designed for a geriatric as they're HUGE. I was hoping to find something a little more stealthy.

An option for you? I have a hidden one in my golf cart now and I LOVE it. Originally, I got it for the 72 but I just felt obligated to use it in the cart on a USB stick. It also does an SD card...or anything with a headphone jack (such as an iPhone).
