It is some 700 away from Omar, although car numbers only 140.
My 300700 car has Webasto 00106

My conclusion is that the Webastos were also used for the 912's from one and the same series.
Webasto was probably supplying gasoline-fired heaters to other customers--they still sell gasoline & diesel-fueled heaters. They probably sent a couple big shipments a year to Porsche and they probably were put on a shelf at Porsche. They may not have come off the shelf in the order Webasto made them.

According to the 1966 Accessories price list, the "Gasoline-electric auxiliary heater" was option 9229. It was a zero cost option on the '66 911 and cost DM 650/US$ 162.50 on a 912. My earliest 911 brochures suggest it was standard on the '65 911 which may not be a big distinction. At any rate, I don't think too many 912s have Webasto heaters. I blame the supply chain for the variance in heater numbers.

By the way, my original 912 Mar 1965 also does not have it (Karmann produced number 450186), but that might be due to the fact it is a 912, maybe they did not have the 'luxury' item at all?

I don't know what these luggage hooks are. That's not exactly the same as confirming I don't have them so if somebody can give me a better idea what to look for, I'll check.

That makes perfect sense since virtually all the 911s up until 1967 model year in my data base, including most all U.S. cars had a Webasto and also why it is listed on their kardex in the option section. On the other hand, virtually no "normal" U.S. 911s had Webastos. Thanks.

Unfortunately my car is not close by and I do not have a picture. Here is the hooks on Omars car in the pic he sent earlier. I always wondered when they disappeared, but now it seem it was in May 65.

There should be 4 luggage hooks in the luggage compartment. I could not find the top ones in Omars pictures before but a closer look shows the one on the drivers side.
Here are pics of my car's hooks 300700 from March 1965.

This is the lower front one (passenger side)
