What a total Sleeper! The C4 Leichtbau was a special project devised by Jürgen Barth using the leftover 953 Paris-Dakar AWD drivetrains in a radically lightened 964. The 935 turbo-knobs work the fully-adjustable differentials (front/rear + left/right). And no, these cars were never sanctioned for any race series. They are true factory hot-rods built as pure collectibles. They would make a heck of a hillclimber with their short gears and AWD, though.

The Ingrams recently sold another one of the C4 Lightweights, and Randy Leffingwell's chapter on the cars is on the Road Scholars website.

    More Luftgekühlt pics....

Ken from Rennlist did a good job in "snapping" most cars, I believe... http://tinyurl.com/jvmtkef ...Excellent event with a lot of great cars and folks and what a classy place to hold an event like this...a good "warm-up" for the up coming weekend.../ Lars...

P.S...nice Cacti all over the place too...(prior to this weekend I would have said "nice Cactuses"...but it sounds much better in Latin)

Lars and bman, THANKS for the links to the photos.

Lots of publicity of the event and I am sure more will follow.

Thanks to Patrick Long, Howie Idelson, Bandito Brothers and Deus Ex Machina Venice for hosting this FREE event. The Best one I have been to

Wow, what a fantastic event!! Thanks for the pics guys!
Does anyone have detail pictures of the gold metallic 2,4S?? My eagle eyes are observing that this is a vehicle delivered new in Japan.
Edit: My computer was having a hang-up. I can see the pics in the flicker folder now. Even a Japanese plate, nice..

Here's another video. I'm not sure if it's the official one, but Patrick Long explains the show.

The shots with the puddle reflections and no spectators are pretty cool. Don't know how early that was.
