    can you take the defroster vents out without taking the dash off.?

    Start with the clock, use a spudger around the rubber to release. then slowly pull. Once you have the clock out you can help push the speedo from the rear, then the tach. Proceed to the others or start from the other end with the fuel gauge.

    I popped mine out today with the dash in place.

    Congratulations on your effort and progress. Reading though the thread was enlightening to say the least. Comment on your deck lid. I have a later one correct for your car.
    The one you have adds a little character to your car even if incorrect. If you decide to upgrade I can help.

    Anyone have any experience installing the stoddard stainless steel fuel line through the center tunnel?

    That's not something you normally have to replace, so little experience. I think we've done one because our careless apprentice drilled thru it. As I remember it removes and installs from the front. You need to remove all the assemblies from the tunnel so you can access the hold-down tabs (which it looks like you've already done) Not a tricky job, just put it back like you found it! And be sure to get it in the rubber grommets at each end.
