    Enjoy it.

The carbs are weber or zennith?
Zeniths.. I've heard good and bad things about them... Have any leads on a pair of webers? I agree, it's going to take a lot of money, so I plan on doing it in stages..

I've got 40's zennith too. Great carbs!! With k&N the sound is gorgeous.
Good luck with your restoration. If you need help... deal me in from spain.

Thanks! I'll try to get more pictures up tomorrow of the tear-down. Luckily the base is closed tomorrow (due to the snow) so I have time to get some work done!

Lots of progress today under the "master"... Although we hit a roadblock with one piston that is frozen in its cylinder. I guess after 30 years they've made an inseparable bond.. Maybe this is a sign I should got to a 2.5l? Hope to have that cylinder off soon enough. Class all day/work all night tomorrow and Friday but should make some good progress again this Saturday. I'm going to take a lot of the engine pieces to school so I can put them in our industrial size parts cleaner so I can get them SQUEAKY clean. I swear there was 50 pounds of oil on this motor!

Took a little persuading to get it loose.

After lots of Kroil, Trust It, Marvel Mystery, heat, small hammers and even big hammers, the only thing that worked was a trusty cut-off wheel. Didn't even touch the piston with the cut-off wheel.

Wow, cool car. That blue interior is way cool. I dont recall ever seeing an original blue interior. I even pulled out my factory materials sample book and there is no blue vinyl basket-weave even shown as an option. Any evidence that it may have been dyed over white or beige? I would do some research on the car before making any big decisions. Could be a special build car??? Does it have a low # serial number?

There is a french member I know with a 2.4E all blue interior and blue Sports Seats (since they are 1972, bolsters are plain)
I ve seen a 68S with perforated Sport Seats in red, there is Ex-Jenkings 67S with perforated Sports Seats in green.
But..thats the first I see a 2.2l with perforated Sports Seats in blue and all blue interior (if correct and not dyed).
Wondering too what is its COA and who ordered it first.

Special color interior was only available with special color paint, in 1971 Leaf Green was -indeed- special color.
(Source: 1971 Upholstery folder, 1971/72 Sonderfarben/Special color folder).

Sorry for bad pics. will be corrected.

Btw, on post 12, that black bag with white Porsche crest used to hold a folded Colgan Bra. Wondering who added the 72' front spoiler or if it was OEM.

I'm going to have to wait to see what the COA says... I pulled the back seats up and looked underneath and I can see a tiny spec of beige-tan color? I don't know if they have been dyed or not. Also, the car is definitely green. It was warm enough today so I was able to pull back some interior trim pieces and the color is the exact same as the color your posted above^

Ryan, great job on getting that piston out! Too bad I had to work or you know I would've been all over it!
