I'll be sleeping inside my "S" in the hotel parking lot at the next event (with a loaded shotgun) ... I can't see any safer option ...

If I had a 1996 Honda I would want someone to take! Or any of the top ten stolen cars.

    Deterrent

Buy a mannequin and dress it up like this. Leave it in the "shotgun" seat. Be sure to install blinking red LED lights on the "vest" with a deadman trigger in one hand.

Hey Marco...what's the 411 on Porsche theft in L.A. these days? Are 993s still being stolen with regularity?

Though some clearly are skilled at confrontation, going yourself after a stolen car where it's kept - could be your funeral.

    Wondering what choices it leaves..

Back in the 80's a long lost acquaintance who was living in L.A. told me a tale where he claimed you could leave money in a car with the keys if you wanted it "gone". (insurance scam) Apparently, the cars headed to Mexico and that was that.

Guile is not in short supply amongst those who would earn a dishonest living. While technology has come a long way rest assured that these same folks have adapted and evolved.
