    new porsche gps radio

Has anyone heard any details on the new radio Porsche is offering for early 911s? Suppossed to have GPS, bluetooth,AM/FM, and be a direct fit in the early dash. I have a '71E and an '85 Carrera, both needing new radios. The '71 has been hacked and has a Sony in it, and the Monterey is inop in the '85.Any info would be appreciated. Jon

Thanks for the reply, but the one I'm reffering to, comes from Porsche, don't know who makes it for them. They are testing it in Europe, but not in the US yet as far as I can find out.

This is the third of fourth generation of this radio. They've been making it for many years.

I have the first gen in my Boxster (a hand-me-down, if you will). Overly complicated and difficult to use, but it worked great in Europe and got us from all over Germany and Switzerland perfectly.

I'm looking to buy the newest generation, but I can't seem to locate a part number. I've been all over the Porsche Classic website and catalog, and I've asked my parts contact at the local dealership, but we can't seem to locate the number. I've seen these installed in people's cars in Europe so I know they are available...

    Hi Marco,

I called Sunset (where I buy the bulk of my parts for my 993) and they said it isn't available in the USA till later this year. Price likely will be around $1400-1500.

    See you soon.

Someone responded to this thread with part numbers.

    Where'd they go?

That be me. Realized after posting they were for the previous iteration circa 2012. Deleted the post after finding the mistake.
