    73.5 Yellow Handled Screwdriver Question

    Hi

I have 2 yellow screwdriver handles, can anyone tell me which one would be correct for a 73.5?

I also need a short Philips shaft for the handle as well. Posted here: http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...135#post795135

    Thanks

    Mike

My search concluded that the red, rounded skirt, screwdriver handle with reversible phillip/flat tip and string tie bag is the correct combination for a 73.5 car. I used to have a small box full of yellow handled screwdrivers and gave them away as space fillers with the 73.5 toolkits I sold, when I don't have the correct red handle screwdrivers. This topic came up quite often. Try a search red handle screwdrivers.

I would love a red handled screwdriver but unfortunately can't find one. Unless someone reading this has one for sale?

Also when do you think the yellow handle screwdriver was introduced?

My original 73.5 has a red handled screwdriver as part of the toolkit.

Hi Chris, apart from the color does the text on yours match any of the 2?

I have two original 73.5 toolkits in my possession, both from very late build cars. Both have the reversible, red-handled screwdriver. I also have six original 74 tookits and all have the yellow handled screwdriver. To my knowledge, the yellow handled screwdriver began in 1974 and I have never seen an original 73.5 kit with a yellow handled screwdriver.

Let's see if Allen H. chimes in.
