Avon's are available from Roger Kraus.
I think Longstone also has them.
    I would also consider 175/70 & 185/70 Avon's for the SWB.
The Toyos will also work on the LWB.
The SWB may be too close per Eric's car.

Thanks for the lead on the Avon's.
How are the Avon's on the street/road? Do they ride nice, handle well, please?

I've had them on 3 'road' Porsches - in each case the same 185/70 & 215/60 combination.

I rate them as being excellent in the dry & they have the vital (for me) characteristic of looking period-correct.

In the wet (& I drove my 904 replica for ~ 500 miles non-stop in torrential rain on one occasion) I would rate them 'very good'.

I can't comment on road noise as all 3 cars ran on open megaphones !

    +1 Andy

Every set that I have put on customer's cars resulted with a phone call back with unsolicited praise...

Some even asked to put them on their second or even their third Porsche...

I have tracked my 2.2 E with healthy engine (MFI pump rebuild) and recently upgraded chassis and brakes last weekend on two different tracks in France (Magny Cours F1 and Dijon Presnois during Rallye de Paris - track regularity event) with BF Goodrich G-Force Sport in 15/205/60.

I thought this would be a good occasion to trash these 2007 tyres that came with the car (ex-California car I bought last December). They were Ok on the road and on the dry Dijon track but an absolute nightmare on the very wet Magny Cours track.

I guess rock solid 8 year old tyres have lost quite a bit of their qualities.

After seeing a number of classics tracked on Avons over here in France, I am tempted to go for a set of 185/70 CR6 ZZ at the four corners. I am afraid the 215/60 will rub on the narrow body as the 205/60 are already reaching the limits of camber adjustment.

Would you guys think Avons are the right choice for a mix of street, regularity rally and occasional track?

Which other tyres would you suggest?

I wish to retain some level of comfort as I have gone for medium bushings, Bilstein sports, 19mm adjustable anti roll bars back and front.

Thanks for chiming in here, Harvey. I suspect no one gets as much real-world tire feedback from early Porsche drivers as you do.

Very interesting comments about the CR6ZZ, which match up with what I've heard from overseas. What do your customers have to say about the N2 P6000s, both when new and after a while—if you hear back.

    Thanks!

tcsracing1, are the sidewalls a lot stiffer on the CR6ZZ compared to CN36? i’m deciding between CR6ZZ and CN36 for street use for my 1970S.

Me too. Pictures of both setups wouldn't raise any complaints either
