    Seat questions

    Good morning everyone!

2 questions I'd love to get direction on:

Are there date stamps on Comfort Seats (Recaro)?

Any idea what this sticker is/was? There's another just like it on the the other seat in the same place. Before I started removing the sticker (illegible) I though it might have been something original - the seats are is phenomenal shape.

    Thanks and happy motoring!

Judging by the seat release trigger, those are early production 71 911 seats. The upholstery looks far too grainy to be original. though. I have never observed a date stamp on 71 seat hinges. That style chrome hinge was only used in the 71 year model. The triggers were changed to a smaller one soon after your hinges were manufactured. The smaller trigger was used in 72 and 73, as well. 72/73 hinges are painted black.

    Regards

    Thanks Jim!

PS - still wonder what the sticker is - I'll see if my secret decoder ring reveals any faded text.

I can only guess, but I have numerous chrome seat hinges with stickers about that size. They are usually old school oil change stickers, though.

    Ciao

No date stamps I know of. But there are paper tags on the original horse hair pads under the seat covers. These are from my '73 comfort seats. Probably some interesting history there.
