Paint color for Interior Door Pull and Housing Interior

Might be calling it the wrong name, as I couldn't find an answer with a search, but has anyone painted the "gray" plastic door pulls and housing interiors that are in the armrests of a LWB? If so, what brand/color paint is appropriate. The handles may clean up without painting, but the interiors of the housings are all scratched up after 44 years of opening the doors.

I cleaned mine up with simple green or equivalent, then went over with 0000 steel wool and tack cloth. Then a couple of thin coats of satin black plastic trim paint brand was dupli-color but worth and Eastwood also make some.

Mine ('71T) look grey, as in the picture below (sorry about quality, all I could find). Were they once black?

    Hi Stephen-

I used the Eastwood plastic paint after soda blasting the parts.
Before, The one on the right had been painted black by PO.

Thanks everyone for the info/tips. I had no idea they were once black. Figured I'd clean them up while I have the doors apart working on the door pockets.

You read my mind. I have SEM Landau left over from other interior parts I painted. Great stuff. I just had no idea the pull used to be black.
