    303500 found ex racer

    I just bought this car:

    1966 Porsche 911, very early vin #303500 engine #903639 901/01 build #3541

Matching number Aga Blue, one of my favorite colors, half of the paint is original, loads of patina

Ex Southern California race car, off the road since 1978, black plates

Came with a set of 7R Fuchs, long wheel studs, vintage flat MOMO, Sheel bucket seat, bolt in roll bar, double adjustable Konis, most of the car is still there as it was not heavily stripped, even has the Webasto in place

Original engine/trans came with the car, solex carbs - air cleaner - fuel pump and all still there

Anyone who raced in the southwest 36+ years ago remember 106F? I wonder where I might be able to find old pictures at some track?

I have no history, this car went through at least 2 flips before I bought it. Owner told a number of stories to the first buyer but I got very little down the line, I hear he was up there in age

What do do now? Get the engine running and bring it to Rennsport? Or restore it? I haven't washed it yet. Best route now is most likely a full restoration to better than new standards, the race history is really cool but so would a perfectly restored original 66 911.

Very cool Mark. Don't forget about the large crest MoMo horn button. Period correct and sought after.

    GREAT find.

Yes I have seen so many Momo wheels and horn buttons but never really had an authentic one like this, so who restores these steering wheels? This one has too much patina to use as-is. Great thing about this car is no one has touched it since the 70s so everything is old.

How about that dash, all the wood looks like it can be saved.

Why not Dallas Custom Mark? If they can do RS steering wheels surely they can do a MOMO rebase/rewrap.

How many miles on it? Are the roll bar plates original PORSCHE ? Does not look like it has been abused like street driven cars do!......nice find......cliff

Nice find Mark, I own 303565 with a build date of Jan 25, 1966.

Whichever route you take, enjoy the process.

    Mike
