    #11800250

Hello, I bought this 911S not long ago and I am searching some early history of it.

I've asked for the Kardex and for the certifícate of autenticity.

It's registered in Barcelona since january 1970 and I bought it there. But the car is earlier...1968 model year?

It looks like the engine and gearbox are matching.

The car sits on 6x15 Fuchs...are they original for this year?

It wears Recaro sport seats...where they optional for this year?

The rear arches seem to be a bit flared...

The body seems strong with no rust.

Is this car supposed to be SWB or LWB?

    Kind regards.

That is the VIN for a 68 model S coupe.

    Last year of the SWB
    68 51/2" Fuchs I'm pretty sure.
Sport seats were offered in 68 as an option.
Should have 901/02 engine with IDS carbs.
68S wasn't available in the U.S. due to smog emissions, so less were made.
The US version is a 68L, same car just changes to the engine to meet emission standards.
Is it a coupe or Targa? I think only 468 targa S were made in 68 so pretty rare.
    I'm sure 75-100k for a nice example.
You should post some pictures I'm sure you'll get lots of help here.

    Thank you.
The car is LWB, not SWB.
    It has Weber carburettors.
    It is a Coupe.
I don't want to sell it.
    I'll post some pictures soon.

How do you know it is a LWB? Back in the day SWB cars were later converted to LWB, but a 118 VIN was a SWB originally. If this was factory produced you have a real rarity, you'll need documentation for this.

SWB only with the 118 VIN number, no LWB till 119 vin

fuchs 15x5.5 standard (15x6 not correct), sports seats should both have the hinge on the driver side

btw only 442 S targas in 68 lowest production of a model, but this is a coupe with that vin

The car started life as an SWB, but I've seen over a dozen SWBs converted with the longer rear banana arms to be LWB. Most often they were race cars. It was a major alteration, so look inside the rear quarter panels for evidence of sectioning, if the rear wheel openings have the rounded lips of an SWB. If your rear arches have the squared lips, the car had part or all of the quarter panels replaced.

Hello! I'm trying to tune the car. This is the last 911 I've bought as a project.
Today I discovered that one of the Weber carburettors is broken. Which model is this Weber? Where can I find a replacement?
    Kind regards.

Send your Webers to Paul Abbott and he can make them like new.
