    Glove box keyhole alignment help

Can someone give me advice on how to straighten the keyhole out, it is part of an art piece (mounted in a box frame for the wall in car cave), so we can use a little force on the backside. We have tried everything we can think of but it won't budge, there is a nut behind the plastic locking arm but I can't get it to move even when everything else is held in place? It's the whole original 67S glove box all intact with patina, I know, it sounds funky but it should be cool when done!
    Thanks all,
    Brooks

It seems to me you're going to have to loosen that nut.

The key is in the unlocked position. That is the way it is supposed to be.

I think I used a thin bicycle wrench to get to that nut......don't recall any drama. Finding an original key is another story!
