    Cold Start Valve Trouble

    Gang,
In trying to awaken my 71 S from its slumber, I had an enormous amount of fuel coming straight out of the cold start enrichment valve mounted on top of the fuel filter.
I thought that the ball valve was stuck, so I disassembled/reassembled......same result. Then, I removed the wire on top of the valve....same result.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks Much!

the solenoid is stuck if it is still open with no wire .plug it and try another solenoid. Backyard procedure would have you remove it and bang it on a wood block.
