Attachment of rocker panel to longitudinal, 1967 911S

Let's see if I got the picture right. After examining several rocker panels on early 911 restorations, and how they are attached, I'm further confused. Do the rockers get spot welded, along the line where my finger is pointing, or do they run free?

    Thanks in advance.

I think the factory paid by the weld some times, but about every inch is what I did when I fitted mine.

The hardest is the top, as they have spots on the vertical as well as top. I had to take the shield off my gun to fit in the slot. But if you've got a spot welder it's an easy job.

Super advice, Tony. Thank you very much. I do have a spot welder, but it isn't always the easiest thing to use in tight places. I have found that "rosetta welds" - as demo'd by Restoration Design's videos - actually easier and more reliable. Once again, thanks to Restoration Design, for doing such a great service.
