Native TEXAN (sort of) staying home

This Ft Worth delivered 1972S was originally ordered at the factory through Max Moritz. It will be staying in the DFW area for the foreseeable future as I recently acquired it as its third caretaker, its second having had it since late 1973. This will forever be Charlie's car since at my current age I would have to own it till I was 108 to have it for a longer period. Plus Charlie built a RGruppe car before anyone had thought of a RGruppe of even before there was much of a hot rod culture for Porsche 911's. In '76-'77 Charlie had Ed Mayo build the 2.8 MFI motor on the original case while Charlie added the ST flairs and 7&9" Fuchs. These documents are better than a COA in my mind, especially given the quality of the information on many COA's recently.

Fun Bob. . Where are the pictures of the car?

Interesting that the sport seats were not possible with US equipment.

Very nice. Can't wait to see it on the road.

Raise the ride height slightly and you have a very Rallye-esqe car. Widebody with steelies.

You know, lots of new cars popping up here and there. I just wish I could progress on my coupe faster to keep up.

    Looks great. Congrats!

John, too early to decide on the ride for our trip. It has not been run for many years so some work to get it ready to use. Wheels are already off to Harvey for refinishing.

    David, it found me!

Trying to find a mental picture of Bob standing on a corner when a car just rolls up asking "Are you my Papa?"

Let us know when you are tired of fostering these things... You are going to run out of signature lines soon.

Jamie, I think it may have something to do with hanging out in the wrong kind of places with unsavory folks, the kind who have cars for sale.
Today was spent seeing if the paint could be brought back. It will need more work and some areas will have to be reshot.
I did not take before and after from the same POV but I think you can get the idea from these.

...and of course the order gets changed.
