Thread: Native TEXAN (sort of) staying home

Just think how much easier Keith's job could be.

Sawzall, Dzus fasteners or plain old self tapping screws. These are real time savers.

I think I should let Keith give you his thoughts.

But self taping screws, what will they think of next?

Tom, I don't think Bob can smell the sarcasm way over there in Texas.

From what I've seen you're in good hands. "Artists in the house!"

Seeing a "build" video where caulk is used between the added flare and the body, smeared into place with a finger, made me cringe. Reasonably sure nothing much was done to the raw edge of these cuts either. A piece of door edge guard at best?

Never looked to see how the factory took care of the "cuts" on this '95 GT2 RSR. I always assumed that Stuttgart wouldn't allow a "raw edge".

Keith has been working the corners but too much heat had been used mounting the flairs originally. This lead to the decision to replace the four corners with straight metal to use as a base to rehang the flairs. So Keith has been cutting in the new corners and tacking in place.

And while doing all this remediation it's fun to fit some new bits, like the strut brace and a 110ltr tank.

one more frame pull in the morning, then we can start rehabbing the flares... fingers crossed that Voodoo appreciates the realignment.

To be precise 10 up. We now have two tankers for long distance runs. I think you will still have the range as my mpg will likely be lower. And then there will be the sender gauge compatibility.
