Yes, please post photos after pressure washing and cleaning it.
Tectyl looks great but the moment you try to wipe it or clean it that look is gone. Much like after a beauty pageant winner has swam in the ocean all day.

But Tectyl does work well as flypaper.

Rick’s photo is great; shows what a clapped out, oxidized, not-even-close-to-new/original fan looks like. Not uncommon for fans that have lived in the wild for 50 years.
I think I can make out small mussels adhered to it.

4 years ago the worker that should only repair the alternator thought it would be a good idea also to blast the fan (2.picture). well, no good idea. while sitting in the garage the the first 3 years after this happened WD40 and Balistol did a great job to stop corrosion (3.picture)
But for a regular use it was not an option the last year (4.picture) and I decided to let JL (John Lobmann) passivate the fan surface. I recently rebuilt to patina engine compartment, so the goal was a rough look. 5.picture was taken directly after installation. Lets see how to get the uneven yellow look with lubricants that are available here.GIBBS is not

Did this ever get settled? My fan is one of the last items on my car to get done. I had true 6 restore it for me years ago but feel the look is not authentic. Does Frank offer a service?

If it looks too pretty after restoration, drive the car.

I just had my magnesium fan along with the weber carbs and intake manifolds restored by Dave Cheney at DC Carburetor Restoration and was very pleased with the results. There are photos of my fan, the webers and manifolds on his website along with pricing. I'd highly recommend Dave now that Paul is retiring.
