Thread: Singer, Singer, Singer . . .

I have this on my hot rod (not a Singer...). The first thing you mentioned is a real advantage - when you pull in to a gas station with a handful of other air-cooled 911's with stock gas cap location, it's nice to be able to access the pump from the 'other' side of the car - no waiting! I haven't experienced any of the other issues you listed to a degree that outweigh this one advantage.

My Dad had a car that had fillers on either side so I get the convenience factor of not worrying about which side you have to pull up on. It's pretty handy for sure.

I didn't like Singer at first as I had moved from "restorods" to stock, and why wouldn't someone rather have a 1973 RS than a Singer?

Having examined one first hand though at Carmel, the craftsmanship is so well thought out and executed that I have become a fan. I can see the place for those that want higher quality than what Porsche makes, and with better looks. I was always disappointed in Porsche's factory interiors when compared to the quality of materials in say a Ferrari, and Singer takes it past that level.

Dispatched by a new Z06 or ZR1 Corvette. Top speed on the ZR1 is in excess of 210mph. At least Alois Ruf builds a "new car" for about $850,000.

For some reason, it's difficult to get with center-console architecture to house and orient shifters on all sportcars today. Probably meant to 'accent' the interior in some way, yet one of the better items was Porsche locating the shifter into the loop carpet and floor without fuss or ornament. Notice the way it maintains space at a premium as well.

Guys, hope i am not hijacking here but, do you have any guess what might be the color code/name of the white DLS?
It looks creamy than alpine white, warmer than Carrara, and richer than regular white.
Some pictures it looks almost satin.. maybe a new white for rs2 used as base if there is such a thing.
Or probably totally original singer color.
But what might be as close to it in your opinion..
    Cheers
