    Need a tire suggestion for a 68 911 "S"

    I'm about to get the wheels back from Harvey Weidman for my 68 "S" Targa swt. I'm looking for a help regarding new tires that best reflect the OEM tires.

    Any suggestions?

    If your going to drive it Vredestein (reasonable) or Michelin xwx (pricey) would look correct. If you want original and will be local to shows and short rides contact AASE as last i checked he had some new and used Pirelli's CN36's. There are better performance tires than all of these but the look will be off.

    I personally don't think a 185 looks right on a 5.5 for originality.
    I would use a 165. There has been some recent discussion on this.
    Many like the Michelin XAS. I like the XZX.... for stockish looking...
    If you want to drive it then use the AVON 175 or modern tread 175s or larger.
