    good morning,

I'm going to restore a set of brake calipers.

    2.4S my73 production end of 1972

What is the correct finishing of them?

    gold or grey?

    thanks

Eric (from PMB) has done a lot of research and posted on this forum. You can go to PMB Performance web site to get some answers also.

I read on another forum that "gold colour" was introduced in 1973....but early MY73 (production end of 1972) were still grey.

    Somebody can confirm this??

Ok Thanks but I'm speaking of MY73

Even in Pmboerformance it's not clear the year of the change
1972 is in both version...grey and gold

The 'another forum' is wrong as a general proposition. Porsche routinely either ran out residual parts from previous model years or fed them in in advance depending on stock levels but in relation to the calipers, your MY73 will almost certainly have the greengold anodised finish. There is an extensive thread on this on the DDK forums - you'll have to search as I haven't saved it. The bottom line is that with the greengold anodising, nobody will ever question the correctness.

I thought he was very clear. The finish changed when the caliper changed.
