    Correct Jack for a 1965 911?

Can anyone tell me what the correct Jack is? I searched the forums but no luck. Thanks in advance.

It's pretty much the same as a 356C Bilstein jack, see Eric Cherneff's website http://www.356tools.com/Jack.htm. The part number for the jack (up through 1968) is 644.722.010.00

There is some controversy about the base color: 356s with the Bilstein jack had the jack base painted the infamous "Bilstein Blue." Most early 911s have the same jack with a black base. If you accept that, then you have to think that during most of 1965, Dieter at the factory in Stuttgart was putting "Bilstein Blue" jacks in 356Cs and Black Jacks in 911s.

I suspect that the earliest 911s had "Bilstein Blue" jacks. I keep "Bilstein Blue" jack with my 1965 911 and don't intend to change.

Here's a slightly enhanced scan of the photo in the 1965 Porsche 911 owner's manual.

The left end should have the rubber buffer; it looks a little odd.

'65? Well, I guess that quintupled the value of my 'blue foot' jack!

There's an ad in the 356 Registry Classified selling two jacks https://porsche356registry.org/classifieds/6629

If you go after one of those, make sure you get a 356C jack with the solid "lifting peg."

Actually, according to Eric Cherneff's website http://www.356tools.com/Jack.htm, the final-style jack with the solid "lifting peg" started in 1962 so your jack may be correct.

I checked last night, I guess my 63 was lucky enough to get a leftover earlier jack put in it at sometime as it has the cutout in the side. Better luck next time!

There's a jack for sale (posted yesterday) in the Early 911S Registry Forum Classified Ads FS: SWB jack--the asking price is a bit higher than I've seen elsewhere. For a 1965 Porsche 911 you might want to paint the base "Bilstein Blue"

There's also one for sale on The Samba: Bilstein jack - blue foot Price: 225 that needs a jack top pad.
