Hi
Hope that your restoration is going well. I recently found some pictures from 1987 in pieces and 1988 on the road
Best Wishes
Richard
Any of the RHD/UK people here recognise the names Kenworthy and/or Robinson? They competed in 1967 911S's on the northern circuits and hillclimbs back in the day - Croft and Harewood and such like. I don't think they are on the original owners list, so possibly they were subsequent owners or driving someone else's car. Interested in any info you might have. Many thanks, Robert
Have a question? On 911S 1966 VIN 305126S 1966, the number 180 is stamped where it should be the color number. Kardex says polo red 6602. What is the number.

Thomas, that is very unusual. First thing I notice is that the VIN does not include the unusual S that is stamped onto all of the 911S badges at the time. Plus the paint code should have both a prefix and a suffix with the 6602. My thought is that this badge is not the original to the car. My guess is that the car was repainted, and the shop went to the trouble of getting a blank badge and stamping it with the new code.

Hello Dave, talked to the first owner of the car and he told me that he went to the Porsche factory in 1969 and repainted the car to silver metallic instead of polo red. Could they have changed the paint sign.

I am sure the Factory would have replaced the paint code badge to reflect the new code. I do not know what that paint code means though.

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.
