Thanks Chuck. OK here in Austin. Had a twister go by a few miles from the house. It was mostly in open canyonlands. Crazy amounts of rain and lots of flooding. My local low water crossing had all the depth signs washed away. Kind of ironic that signage to keep you safe in a flood was itself destroyed by a flood.

My prayers are with all the locals who were not so fortunate.

Just talked to Stephen at GTS Seats yesterday. I didn't realize that he moved about 7 years ago 25 miles away from his first location in the hill country.
He said all is well in the new place........... but but so good for his old neighbors where he used to be......

Thank you Chuck for your expression of concern. While we need the rain to break our drought, close to 20" so far this year has filled most of the lakes to overflowing. Flash flood areas tend to be known, but with so little rain since 2012 many may have forgotten how quickly a dry wash can turn into a class 4 or that an area is subject to these events.
Our sever weather tends to be very localized even when we have wide fronts moving through. We had some tornadoes touch down in Dallas the other day and I only found out about it much later that day. It can be devastating where it hits and untouched just a short distance away.
Again thanks for your good thoughts.

More rain in Corpus than I can remember in the recent past. One reservoir is near 100% but the other is still 31.5% as of today if that gives you an indication of how bad the drought was here. Plus, no one is calling the drought over at this point. Some of the folks that were lost in the Wimberley flooding were from Corpus including a couple kids that go to my sons school. Heart breaking. The dad survived with some pretty serious injuries but the mom and kids are still missing. The family dog was found today (alive) in a tree.
