    Oil Tanks ID

I would like identify years for a couple of oil tanks.
Is the first correct for 1969-71?

Second tank is early curved front. I would think SWB, but what years?
    Sender is dated 4 65.
Was there another tank type between these 2?

Filter consoles seem identical, but mountting is different on tanks.

Not much response on this. Anyone with a 1967-68 911 want to comment on their oil tank? Straight or curved front?
I've gone through the PET and it seems the part numbers for the '65-71 tanks are the same. All the oil tank numbers seem to now refer to the later LWB one. Sending units for oil level also, even though the early one I have is different.
In an earlier oil tank thread, Marek was making reproduction tanks. He has one version of the '65-71 tank, which also seems to be the later straight edged one.

So from what I can find, the first 911 Oil Tank had the curved edge. Possibly used from 1964 through 1968?

Second, which seems to be LWB from 1969 is the straight edge.

    1972 was of course unique.

In the earlier thread on the 1973 tanks, it got interesting due to the possibility of a few styles.

So as not to confuse, early tanks position the oil filler tube to the rear of the oil filter console.

The oil tank cutaway is a late tank (notice location of oil filler tube and dip stick). Are the internal oil tubes in early tanks in the same location?

It seems through 1968 the oil tanks were the curved leading edge type. Internal Tube is in a different location SWB to LWB. It changed 180 degrees at the filter console.
When fitted with separate Filter Consloe on oil tanks, oil pressure bypass is built into console. Late model tanks depend on Filters internal bypass.
The filler tube, dipstick was moved to the opposite side of the tank from 1973 on. The oil level sender changed, but location stayed the same. Drain plug changed from allen to bolt.
In my search, I have also found an interesting change Porsche did on later cars. I found this note for the current replacement sending unit for 1973's on from Porsche. "Replace your sender, and make sure that you don't get low on your oil! Note: 911s through 1980 must also update to later style dipstick." It would seem that the oil level in the tank was lowered. The newer sending units and dipsticks are calibrated for the lower level. I believe Porsche has done this to prevent oil from being pulled into the intake from the vent tube.

I've got an oil tank with the straight edge under the screen tagged as a 71? it has dash 10 AN fittings welded to the high pressure side and the low pressure
side of the pump on the tank and also on the drain plug three AN fittings welded to the tank, any idea what this oil tank application would be used for?

A picture of the tank would help. There are a couple of tanks with additional fittings.

Any idea what the tank on the left is out of? It has a screw on cap, and an extra fitting near the filler..
