Out and about in my shop driver. Spent some time adding lightness, with batt change and other..
1740 with 1/3 tank of fuel. I may remove the new headliner which was a mistake to install. The ceiling is nicely painted satin black already.
I was running the car at about half the advance it would allow. Running/driving great now.

Congrats, Matthew! 1,740 lbs...that thing has got to be a blast to drive.
Thanks Pete !
I did a 60 mile high speed rough Philadelphia road stint today. Afterward, I checked head temps: 170ishF, hard oil lines: <90F ambient: 68F
Note: I ruined my suede dash pad messing with it, that will need replacing. Brakes are good, (sensor bad).

PS to people who know Philly: I did Kelly Drive along the river at 75 mph and still with only a 4 wheel alignment with string and no stabilizer bars (as from factory, French market car btw).
I'll have it properly aligned soon of course.
It has great potential as a vintage race car, I had a great time today

Time to lower the car. Only the fronts adjusted but definitely an improvement. Yesterday's long drive is just what it needed, it fired up so quickly today.
A few suspension bolts worked very loose after yesterday's drive.
These pics are prior to wheel alignment camber adjustments et cetera. Doesn't look weird anymore..

One thing i don't like is how much of the exhaust is seen.
I held it up to the engine as much as possible when making it.
I like the light blue engine support and exhaust but may paint the exhaust black to lessen it's visibility.
I got lucky on the first try, it works well.

6868 Stinger 912R start up oil pressure at idle and slightly off idle. Sweet. 90F here today,20/50 VR1
the oil take off to the sending station is just before oil goes back into the motor not as it comes out. This way, I'm not fooled if there is a leak in the cooling circuit or anywhere else.
This neat vintage silver dot gauge will be mounted inside.
Also, I bought a 1 owner all original low mile barn found in Idaho (22 years in storage ) '78 911 Super Carrera Coupe (AKA "Foxy Brown") in Mocha/Cork I'll share soon with the group.

Fixer, I'm a little concerned about the small size of your motor mount top washers, you run the risk of of motor dropping out the bottom, originals are much larger. It may not be a big problem but aircooled engines always isolated cool intake air from hot exhaust air with engine surround sheet metal.
Thanks gled49, I'll increase the washer size as per your request.
This engine can be flogged all day and runs cooler than any air cooled motor I've owned. The engine bay has remained debris free too which was an early concern.
I would of course like to isolate heat away from intake but this 912 is running a 914 2,0 liter, so engine tin is not exactly available. That's another project on the to do list.

912E of 76 ran the same motor, might not be easy but??
