Yes 912E "tin" would work but they are such rare cars only 2000 were manufactured. I've had no luck finding this.

No big deal, it can be made easily with a bead roller.

I've got other challenges though now. I have many early projects to help people with.

Here's a 66 that's been mostly sitting since 1975 and needs resto. It's really a complete car and originally sand beige. Also to do for a customer is a pretty rusty and badly previously repaired '67 911 that will be a hot rod.

The 912R is enjoying life and being used regularly.

I've always known that I enjoy the challenge of a project as much as driving (sadist I guess)

For giggles I posted on CL for $80,000.

Got a nibble today at 50K, then a better one. I haven't enjoyed it enough to sell

WOW! Great thread. You did a great job by yourself, Matthew! But, i do have to ask... you haven't considered using a celette? or, now that it is ready at least try it in one, to see if the chassis is true?

    Thanks!^
It's true, I Do have access to several. I also own a model 91900 Blackhawk.

    Finally dialed in the stance.
Now with Lexan and other deletions its 1677 lbs with a few gallons.
I now have to reset the suspension, also I plan to paint the header exchangers black but with blue tips. They're too prominent in light blue.

My 67 hotrod customer is giving me a 2,0 liter T motor and its 901 5 speed for this car. That oughta be fun! Very nice of him.
I'll need S brakes. Expensive, but I'll lose a few more lbs and be able to stop.

R door handles are on backorder (Sierra M) I like theirs as they are very light grey, Rebel Racing's are darker grey but available.

Blue Sev Marchal covers will echo the blue exhaust tips. Should look sharp. Earlier style PORSCHE script will adorn the engine lid with RSC highlighted a little different.

Added more lightness, I calculated I'd be at 1677 pounds but was wrong. A great Philadelphia fall driving day today.
This scale is calibrated by the state every month, 1/8th tank of fuel.

You don't get many creature comforts at this weight. I guess my next move is lighter aluminum calipers.

If you are doing it to have fun, $'s be damned, go for it. If you are doing it to make a bundle, don't!

Hey Conrad, it's all always been for fun:-) I'm planning on installing a 2,0 L six. I'd like the car as light as possible and it'll need to stop better.

This car ended up being so much fun.

The exhaust changes I made (now a Stinger) have it running alot better and its quieter. 145 bhp/155TQ and propelling only 1700 pounds.

I have an 911S now, I'll start a thread one of these days, super busy as usual.

Love your esthetic, Matt! Terrific execution of details that are a pleasure to look at. Congrats on completing it, or will there be further evolution?
