For sure. The seller even used the R word. (Rust) in the discription.

Here's mine...73 Tii minus the Tii...for the moment. It has a carb but I have all of the original MFI equipment for it. Need to get the pump rebuilt and injectors tested. Hopefully the injectors are still good because new ones are $600 apiece!

Now Turn Your Hymnals to Early 02

Beautiful car you have there Mohrgan.

For some reason I got the early car bug after reading the story of Mr. Magoo goes to Monterey by Auto Kennel.

Here are the lines to the early car hymn: Low back seats, long neck diffs, no brake servos, clear glass, dainty bumpers and simplified trim.

The many unique features and attendant problems with NLA parts made the early 1600 cars off limits to most. This is a similar kind of old car limbo that the now beloved early long hoods languished in for decades. These early 1600 cars also have that unembellished purity of Bauhaus design and reveal the brilliance of original concept.

And so any issues with this 151xxxx Caribe car will be placed squarely at the feet of the Auto Kennel exploits into early 02 stuff. Here it is in the shop after arriving from storage.

Nice Car, Alpina Wheels, Intarsienleiste, ti Grille, and pretty early. I might still have a set of stainless Trico Wipers - they were sold by Alpina, Koepchen, GS Back then.

    Early

    Hello uai

    Thanks!

According to BMW Archives the car was manufactured in mid December 1966. It has most of the early car features of the 150xxxx series cars. However it is an early second series car with a 151xxxx chassis number and has its original nose panel and front fenders. It also has several other bits of the very early ALPINA equipment in addition to the steel rims.

Your Trico stainless wiper blades would help complete the picture and I will pm you.

By the way that is a great looking steering wheel shown in the image attached to your post. Perhaps you could tell us all about it as it is unfamiliar (to me at least). Is that the signature of Hubert Hahne of Diana fame?

    Manila

    Nice Manila '67 there 50/50.

Like they say, running driving early cars are getting hard to find.

    Something special.
