Here's my 72 Tii. It's been in our family since 74. Other than a repaint in the early 90's it's largely all original. It also has the rare 02 specific dog leg close ratio 5 speed.

So many adventures in the past 42 years!

Very nice Scott! And cool that it's been in your family for so long. We should plan an East/MW RG BMW owners get together sometime.

Thanks Jim! That would be very cool! Randy has the matching Tii to mine. Long story, but Randy's Tii was once owned by one of my dad's buddies in BMWCCA in the 70's/early 80's. So many fun adventures with both families and cars. When he sold it around 1984, it had 12K miles and had never seen rain. Lost track of the car through the years, but one early AM I saw that very car on BaT. Knowing Randy wanted a Tii I called him and said if you really want one, this is the car to have. He bought it sight unseen and we had one heck of a road trip to go pick it up on the East Coast. So after 30 years the cars were reunited. How cool is that?

Thanks! Purchased and picked up directly from Al Cosentino of FAZA fame. Now there's another good story! Do you guys remember Al?

Knew him pretty well back in my late '60's early '70's in my Alfa days Scott..... Lots of stories

    http://www.fazaabarth.info/exhaust.htm

Back in those days he was the Abarth guy and still making sense...

The last time saw him was at Pomona, about 6 years before the end... Not a good time
However he did have a very big and beautiful black lab with him that he spoke only Japanese to... and I swear the dog understood every word.......... Al was one'of'a'kind

    ... and so it goes

Oh yeah. That's a name I haven't heard in years. I used to see him at Lime Rock in the late 60s and early 70s and bought an Abarth exhaust for a pos TR6 I had back then.

Reading through Al's link that Chuck posted reminds me of the label on the Dr Bronner's soap bottle.
