Original owner 69S are there others out there?

I took delivery of my 1969 911S from Wester Motors in Monterey on March 22, 1969. The car has been licensed and driven for the last 46 plus years. Not once has the car left me stranded due to mechanical failure. It has been a total work horse taking me skiing, fishing, to work for 35 years, kids to school, driving school, autocrosses , time trials and Georgetown Hillclimb several times. Size: 101.6 KB I've attached a few pictures of items maybe only a original owner has reference to. Attached to the original key with leather fob was a copy of starting instructions for fuel injected engines. Hopefully you can read the small print it's pretty interesting. Also notice the low tech antenna key for locking the original supplied antenna. Also some of you may remember the old California temporary paper license that had to be attached to the bumper of all new cars until the black and gold plate arrived. Also note the 1/4" plywood insert that was put in a sleeve of the underside of the trunk carpet to give support over where the tool bag is stored. I remember the dealer telling me that it was to be used to give support to the jack if you had to change a tire on a rough surface. The old 911S has been painted once (sorry for the bad picture) and the engine has been rebuilt once due to a faulty fuel injection pump that allowed raw gas to dilute the engine oil and thus ruined the engine bearings. Too numerous stories for now. I hope some other original early S owners are still breathing out there..

I'll bet this is a very exclusive "club". My 69S was 6 1/2 years old when I bought it, and sadly had already been painted twice and the original Fuchs, FM radio and tool kit were long gone. Only drove it for a year or so before putting it in my garage. It's still there, so I have owned it for over 40 years.

    '60s CA Temporary Registration Tag

    I remember these

Dunno when they stopped issuing/using these, but the earliest that I can recall seeing one ~'68. Back Then, when you bought a new car, these tags would be taped on the rear of the car --- usually on the back bumper. The kind of ephemera that prolly disappeared the 1st week the car came home. I've looked for one o' these off-&-on over the years --- eBay, mostly . . .

. . . but this is 1st one that I've seen since I was playing kick-ball in grammar school

    Neat. Really-really neat

    Thumbs up

As some know I've been do'n an annual Thanksgiving trip up to Chico for the last 35 years. I think it was around 1990 I contacted Ron (though the Registry list) to get together while I was up there. On this trip I did drive my 911. Ron met me at my friend's house with his gorgeous '69S, we shook hands, and he said "Let's go for a dive". Ron said "This is an original 2 liter 69S that I keep well tuned" and he asked what mine was all about. I told him that mine (at the time) was a pretty high mileage pretty original (at the time) 2.4 '73S that I keep well tuned......... He said "Lets trade for our drive". And that was the day I drove a 'well tuned' stock '69S for the first time........... and it was wonderful!!!!!!

When we ended our 'spirited' drive Ron asked "Well what'cha think?"
I said that I loved the tightness, lightness, response, and the shorter gearing... that everything was matched perfectly to the performance.
When I asked Ron about mine he said he really appreciated the 2.4's torque and it's longer gearing and not having to shift so much.......

I know I took some pictures that I'm now tearing apart my photo collection to find.... but until I do...

Hey Ron, welcome to the board............... and thanks for a GREAT drive bud......

    Cheers,
