"Walker, also known as the Urban Outlaw, was driving Star Tribune video host Vineeta Sawkar when he crashed into an empty semi trailer, according to a post on her Facebook page. Photos on Twitter show the smashed-up car. Sawkar is icing her back and "appreciating life," she wrote in her post, saying that she asked Walker to slow down before the crash." - Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal

Just when I thought I was possibly being too hard on Mr. Walker...

    this comes out.

    My posts stand.

Ms. Sawkar's comments sound a lot like the beginning of a lawsuit.

< I caught up with Sawkar Tuesday as she was home recovering from “a bizarre and scary morning,” as she reported on social media.

“This guy, I don’t know why he was driving as fast as he was on that [frontage road],” Sawkar told me. “All we wanted was some nice video of him in his car, that he restored. It was bizarre. I’m just thankful I got out of it alive and no one else was hurt.” >

Screen Shot 2015-08-24 at 4.55.52 PM.pngOpen window and even if he was wearing a harness/HANS/helmet (very unlikely for a demo run) - hitting the EDGE of the trailer at that height..could have had a VERY different outcome. Anyone remember Maria de Villota's 2012 test accident with Marrusia F1 Team?

Very glad he and his passenger are OK.

So there's in-car video from Star Tribune too? Glad I'm not a celebrity...

Another shot from a Pelican thread shows a curb and grassy area on each side of the truck. Too bad Walker didn't have a chance to make it there. Glad everyone is alright:

He HAS to fix the car to save face ... he'll spin it and market it as some sort of resurrection after a magnificent racing shunt or some such garbage. But I've never seen a Magnus car that was up to the standards of "Esposito or one of the many talented guys from California."

    HA! This made me laugh.

Don't fool yourselves, though, people. That 277 car was a clapped out, Time Trial track rat. It was only "nice" because it had history ... the car itself was pretty hammered. The day he blew up his motor chasing me around the Streets of Willow at the 2013 POC season opener the car looked the same as it did 10 years prior when Magnus was campaigning the car in Time Trials. I doubt it saw a lick of maintenance.

However, this is an opportunity to actually make it nice.

What "history" does the car have?
