Lightweight fiberglass will do that. A little heat and having it tied down tight should help it shape back.

A recreation of Porsche’s most iconic sport car!
Offered here is a tribute one of the most historically significant road cars Porsche ever built – the 911 Carrera RS. This build started as a low-mileage, numbers matching 1973 911T and fitted with steel RS flares (butt welded), steel RS Touring rear bumper, steel 911S front bumper and a fiberglass ducktail. The Brumos-style race livery really pops against the crispness of the Grand Prix White paint. The original 2.4L motor was rebuilt to 2.7L specifications including 90mm pistons, performance cams, ported/polished intake manifolds and Weber 40IDA carburetors with custom jetting. The factory 915 transmission was bolstered with a Quaife limited-slip differential, lightweight flywheel and factory short-shifter.
The interior has been refreshed in a lightweight but not barebones fashion; utilizing RS carpet and door panels to save weight and GTS Classics bucket seats to keep you firmly in place during those spirited runs. The double-wrapped 380mm steering wheel is comfortable and responsive while the Retrosound stereo allows you to connect your smart phone for long drives or hands-free phone calls.
Since arriving at Makellos Classics, the car has been gone through by our Porsche factory trained technicians. The car has been given a thorough detail and is ready to be enjoyed!

    Auction Description:

*323 HP Engine by noted Porsche engine specialist Dave Brown
*Offered with its Porsche-issued Certificate of Authenticity
*Classic RS looks with modern drivability
*Incredible outlaw build by Porsche Experts
*Great car for High-Speed Rallies, and Porsche Club events

This particular 911 left the factory in 1972 as a non-sunroof 911T. Much of its early history remains unknown, until it was found in a project state by the consigner in 2014. With its engine missing, it was decided to be used as the basis for a 911 Outlaw RS Tribute.

The first part of the process was entrusted to Backyard Legends in Concord, NC. All rust was removed, new steel panels from Restoration Designs, and steel flares with other fiberglass panels were purchased from TRE. The entire car was stripped to bare metal, then painted in Glasurit Gulf Blue.

Since the car was missing an engine, a 3.2-Liter unit from a 1985 Porsche was purchased. The rebuild of this unit was entrusted to noted Porsche engine specialist David Brown. The unit was fitted with new Mahle Barrels that increased the displacement to 3.4-liters. This engine was then fitted with Carrillo rods, forged JE piston, larger valves, and a 906 grind cam. The ignition system is MSD coil packs, with dual plugs, fuel delivery was handled by a MegaSquirt injection system , and PMO throttle bodies. This finished engine produced 323hp at the crank, and naturally this leads to a mind-blowing level of performance. To cope with the extra power, Dave Brown also attended to the transaxle; fully rebuilding the unit and fitting a Wevo shifter.

To ensure the car chassis was able to deal with the substantial power upgrade, former Brumos Crew Chief, Mike Colucci, was consulted. The car was fitted with new components by Elephant Racing (e.g. threaded body struts, new ball joints, hollow sway bars, and pole bronze control arms). In addition, the front suspension was lowered 19mm to increase road-holding. Von shocks and coils overs were also fitted. The braking is handled by 944 Turbo front calibers, and SC front calipers mounted in the rear. This has ensured that the car has the road-holding and braking to match its impressive power plant.

Lastly, the interior was entrusted to GTS Classics in Texas. This included new ST leather seats with perfo-rated leather centers, new dash, and with RS door panels. To complete the RS styling, the car was also fit-ted with RS carpets, headrests, and headliner. All gauges were then rebuilt by Palo Alto Speedometer and fitted in to a new re-trimmed dash.

The final assembly of the vehicle was entrusted to Porsche specialist CM Performance in Bessmer, NC. The end result of over a year's work is truly breathtaking. The 911 was first displayed at this past year's Werks Reunion at Amelia Island Concours, where it scored a second place in the 911 Outlaw class.

This particular outlaw 911 is a fantastic tribute to the legendary RS. Built on a genuine non-sunroof 1972 911, it is eligible for any number of Porsche Club events, or as an exciting weekend cruiser.

With and excellent power to weight ratio, powered by a 323hp fuel injected power plant, it offers over a hundred more horsepower than an actual 72 RS 911. Sure to provide its next owner with an exhilarating driving experience, an almost perfect blend of classic 911, and modern performance, the opportunity to acquire this fantastic outlaw should not be missed.

    BaT Description:

This 1972 Porsche 911 is an RS tribute that was acquired by the selling dealer last year. It was reportedly purchased new by a US Air Force officer and imported to the US following his service in West Germany. The modifications were installed by Stoddard Imports in the 1990s, and exterior work included the installation of fender flares, RS-style bumpers, a ducktail spoiler, Carrera graphics, and a repaint in the original Light Yellow. The flat-six has been rebuilt with 2.4L 911S barrels and 2.2L 911E pistons, Elgin camshafts, a chain tensioner upgrade, and MSD ignition. This 911 won best of show at Stoddard Imports Porsche Concours in 2000, and it is now being offered by the selling dealer with records from the recent work and a clear Ohio title.

The body was repainted many years ago in its original shade of Light Yellow (117) following the installation of steel fenders that were reportedly sourced from Stoddard. A steel rear bumper and fiberglass front bumper and rear decklid with a ducktail spoiler were also fitted, and the oil filler door was removed. Porsche Carrera graphics were applied to the sides and rear of the body. Fuchs-style wheels were refinished and the brightwork has been polished and re-anodized. Yokohama AVS tires are fitted, and each corner is detailed in the gallery below. Calipers from a 911S and cross-drilled rotors have been added.

Black ST-style seats have been reupholstered with material from Autos International. RS-style door panels and pulls have been installed, and a set of Coco Mats protects the carpeting. A leather-wrapped 4-spoke steering wheel is fitted, though no radio is installed. Just over 12k miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer.

The flat-six is linked to a 915 5-speed manual transaxle and was reportedly rebuilt under previous ownership with 2.4L 911S cylinders, 911E 2.2L pistons, performance-ground Elgin camshafts, SSI heat exchangers, a high torque starter, an updated chain tensioner, and upgraded electronic ignition with an MSD box. More recently, the engine was rebuilt and the carburetors were tuned by Steinel’s Auto Werks of Twinsburg, Ohio. According to the seller, downshifting into 3rd and 4th gears usually requires double-clutching. 930 Turbo tie rod assemblies have been installed.
