Anyone know this car? '73 T hotrod - 3.1L Motor

I recently found myself the new owner of this 1973 911T, and I'm trying to find some history on it. The car has an Early911s sticker in the window.

    Here's what I know:
    It is in fact a '73 911t non-sunroof
    Original color is silver
The motor in the back is one of the 3.1L prototype engines out of a 78-80 Euro SC.
The car was previously owned in CA

    Thanks for any help...

Congrats on finding this car in your possession.
Try posting/searching the VIN on the forum and you'll likely come up with some more info.

Is there a motor in the front as well?

I would love to hear more about the 3.1 engine. Pics of the serial number and engine would be fantastic.

    Congrats on your acquisition.

Wiper motor ... windshield washer motor ... front condenser fan motor ... those are all motors up front. Add all three of those up and you might get that .1L of displacement.

Was this 911 parked in downtown Carmel this year? If so, it stopped me in my tracks. Cool car. Liked the fog lights, and wondered about how well those BFGs work on a sports car—because they looked tall, simple, and right for the period.

Please do tell us more about the SC 3.1 engine. I went many years before hearing about these, and have only seen one car in the U.S. with this engine, an SC in the Southeast if memory serves. The car/engine was discussed in this issue of Excellence: http://www.excellence-mag.com/issues...&search=SC+3.1

    Here's a better link on the 3.1.

Just keep in mind that rare and valuable are different concepts. If rare was valuable my 4-speed 1973 would bring a whole lot more money.
