    4 screw grill!

    Hi all..
I wanted to get your thoughts about these! I have a 4 screw grill early car that I just bought this pair of grills from the registry recently to mount them on after rechroming .. I have noticed that they're little off and not identical in shape! I haven't tried mounting them yet... Any thoughts?!!

Maybe 50 yrs of life has left some marks...
Brass is soft enough to deform...

Is it made out of brass? They feel really heavy and sturdy!
The one to the left has a number "4" stamp below the upper outer screw hole.

The one to the right I can see only a "circle" stamped in the middle on one of the fins!

The early 4 screw grilles were made off brass and made to fit the individual car, that's what we are doing now also on our restorations, sometimes we have to shave, sometimes add brass and shape them to fit the car.
We think some of the markings on them were to identify them to a certain car.

Interesting! I guess I might need to do some modifications if they don't fit!

Do you know or would recommend anyone that would do chroming to these grills?

    Thanks for the info

My research indicates 4 or 5 different sizes, marked on the rear...

We add them to the rest of our chroming and have no issues, always come back great.
If you are in my area to drop them off I would be more than happy to add them to my batch to the chromer.
