Another set of two interesting 911s.

To me, the way Brumos chose to resolve the relatively minor detail of matching the flare & the rear bumper to each other in-house, shows what a little imagination and patient DIY work can accomplish.

I tried every trick I know and couldn't get photo #3 of the placard for the Brumos #59 to come up at the beginning of the post…….that's where it belongs.

Before Friday of RR V I have never had the unique opportunity to hear my own jaw hit the floor at the stunning sight of three 911Rs displayed next to each other ( photo #1 ). Since it was early in the morning and not crowded at all, I was fortunate enough to receive a casual 'cook's tour' of two of the three cars by the gentleman in photo #2, Bob Ingram, family patriarch and a perfect, gracious gentleman who is capable of immediately impressing with his knowledge of the cars and his enthusiasm to grow the Ingram Collection, which now numbers 53 important and historic cars. The all white car without numbers or plates in rear view is 911R Ser.# 17, the white car with orange hood is Ser.#03 - both are part of the Ingram collection, while the gold metallic car, Ser.#15 constitutes part of the Collier / REVS Institute collection.

One of my personal highlights of the weekend.

Another short set of eight images showing 3 more important cars in the long 911 motorsports evolution.

I really liked the format in the Heritage tent - historic cars, beautifully presented with the pertinent information unambiguously displayed above each car, including a short list of the palmares of its racing career. The vast majority of the 'tent cars' were not driven on track, rather, stayed put for most of the weekend so if one wanted to, he / she could spend all the time they wanted to looking at these jewels and studying or photgraphing them…….the light at certain moments during sunrise was simply spectacular. Several people even brought folding chairs, easels and sketched and painted them.

It is my fervent hope a book will be published exclusively about RR V along the lines of Hal Thoms' immortal "Racing Milstones", the story of the 1998 Porsche-themed Historics.

Continuing in more or less chronological order, another short set of 7 images, this time of a couple more important race cars from the eighties.

    Thanks for the pictures

I really like the 911 R 003, as its a French car. You can note the Porsche Pozzi sticker. This is amazing because Pozzi was (and still is) Ferrari Importer in France. And is also still have its registration from Calvados (D-Day beaches...).

Do you have the same kind of pictures for the 924 Carrera GTS and the two 911 SC\RS?

The last short set of one of Porsche's historic race cars with placard information, after which we'll wrap up this segment with some left-over reandom 'homeless ' shots of various cars in the Chopard tent.

Note: Forgive the back-tracking, but I found and am adding another pair of images I feel should definitely be included among the placard-described highlights of the Chopard display even though it's hopelessly out of sequenc………….a rare '68 ( photos # 8 & 9 ). I suspect J. Thornton's old nemesis "Jezebel" probably came out of that group of 20 cars.

The penultimate full set of random shots of various cars in the tent, which went a long way to establish the ambiance and the feeling of strolling through a three-dimesional & very real chronicle of the PORSCHE marque's remarkable motorsports legacy.

Sorry, photos #1, 2 & 5 are of the same car and belong in a group, as do #3 & 10.

Your last set of pictures were posted at 9:11. You don't miss a lick! Fabulous photos and including the poster boards is genius.

    Ciao

    Jim
