    Engine came out of the 914-6 conversion Monday and we dropped the 69S engine out today to do the short case swap

    Here is the engine with the original case to my 1969S that was in the 914-6 conversion since 1998 . Owner kept great records and still has the invoice when he bought the car in 1980 and for the engine build in 1994 . The engine has 13,000 miles on it since the rebuild



    Numbers 901/10 then under 19773



    We dropped the 69S motor out today. The case is dated late 68 so I would think date correct for a January 69 built car but has no numbers.

    Great story.
    I'm wondering why someone would pull the original engine and replace it with an unmodified replacement.

    So is everyone else. The 914-6 conversion is from the same area my 69S is originally from. Renee at Rensport in Framington Ma who built the 69S case/engine for the 914-6 conv is still in business but does not remember anything other than they supplied the case.
