    Third time's a charm!

Thankfully after watching a ridiculous amount of how-to videos on youtube I was able to lay down the vinyl perfectly on the engine lid. I'm relieved this went well as it means I can continue the DIY aspect of the project and start tackling the more difficult panels.

With the engine lid complete, I couldn't resist the temptation of also laying down the Porsche decal and mocking up the orange bumper for a quick preview!

    Looks good. Way to go.

Not going to lie. I kind of like it black with a white lid with black letters and orange bumper.

Big update: Progress has been made!!

The work has spanned many days, but I now have the whole driver's side of the car covered. I did my best to take any lessons learned and apply them to the more complex panels like the rear quarter panel and front fender, but as predicted the many curves proved to be quite the challenge. I ended up relying heavily on both the heat gun and my patience, but I'm pretty happy with the result. I can see some imperfections up close, however stepping back just a foot hides it.

    On to the passenger side!

    That's a wrap.

I've probably already used that pun, but it works so much better this time because I've actually finally finished wrapping the 911. Going into it I thought the roof would be one of the easiest sections to wrap, but it turned out to be the worst. While the big flat section of the roof was cake, the rain gutters fought me every step. I also struggled to stretch and shrink the vinyl to have it contour along the A and C pillars.

Overall, the wrap was a success. I changed the color of the car with minimal investment and/or commitment. However, the rain gutter fail bothers me, and I'll likely re-do them at some point in the future. Would I do it again? Maybe.
