Need your help re brake hose and fan belt shim?

    1966 911,
Getting the brakes back together and saw a leak from below the master cylinder area after bleeding the brakes. The leak appears to be coming from the hose leading from the reservoir to the master cylinder right at the hose clamp.

I would like to replace the hose, clamp as well as the line leading into the master cylinder. My questions are, can you confirm these are the correct part numbers:

    Hose - 999-181-021-50 @ 160 mm
    Clamp - 999-512-055-02
    Line - 904-355-644-00

Anything else I should know, from the diagram, the line into the master cylinder appears to simply snap in with a rubber grommet but I'm not certain, can you confirm how this fits?

With regard to installing the fan belt, I have read that it's critical to use six shims, is this accurate? I am installing a new Continental belt and need help with proper placement of the shims.

    Shims - 901-105-561-00-M260 (0.5mm)

Any additional suggestions - tips for proper installation of the belt and shims?

As always thank-you for the help,
    Regards,
    Mike

I don't have a single circuit master cylinder here, but memory is that there is a nipple protruding from a rubber bush that the feed line slips onto. As for the shims, yes, generally up to seven, too few and the pulley halves won't be tight, even though the nut is.

Thanks For your input Ed, I have ordered a few items, the hose, clamp and rubber grommet, except the line going into the master cylinder is not available. Can I use a regular brake line cut to length as a replacement?

Prior to replacing the fan belt there were only two shims on the inside and one shim to the outer side, it seemed to work fine with the old belt. With the new belt and same number of shims the belt was far too tight. I'll go with the additional shims on the new belt, hopefully this will make a difference.

    Thanks again for your help,
    Mike

Remember, its not just where the shims go, but rather the total thickness. If you only need two shims for belt tension the remainder go under the cupped washer so as to always have the same total thickness.
