Thread: Oakland Man Dies After 2 Porsches On Napa Vintage Car Rally Collide

  1. #11
I had some dealings with Jordan over the years. He was always a gentleman in our dealings but, frankly, I think he was simply a really nice guy with a passion for cool, vintage Porsches.

I know he did some work with Retrosport up north, and I only had the pleasure of meeting him once, but I have no doubt his untimely death will leave a gaping void in MANY people's lives. For those people, I am truly sorry for your loss. To those who never met the man, I am truly sorry for your loss as well.

What I find to be most upsetting about this horrific situation is that it was totally and completely avoidable.

Make good choices, people. Make good choices....

I had the pleasure of enjoying the road with Jordan for some time now. He will truly be missed. Godspeed my friend.

Utterly senseless tragedy that has left a grieving widow, family, and friends asking "why"?

The answer lies in the minds of individuals who engage in this reckless behavior. And please spare us the "Boys will be boys" crap. Just ask Mr. Ravitch if killing his friend was worth the risk.

Whatever punishment is dispensed by the legal system will pale in comparison to the moral burden he's placed on himself. I am praying for him as much as the victims here. May God use this incident to save the lives of others in the future.
And before you think I'm posturing for Sainthood, please know that none of us are exempt from making poor choices and stupid decisions. It is this very fact that leads me to personally expend vast amounts of my resources and consolidate my temptations and ego to the track.

For the sake of Jordan's legacy and all those lost before him, may this change the street driving culture that many in this community find acceptable.

For those who insist on driving like a maniac on the street, do it alone and away from others. BUT keep in mind that even if you only kill yourself there will still be victims.

Come on Luke, you can't take just part of her statement to make your point...this tragic situation that I believe we should all show respect without trying to make a statement about how one should drive on the street, our cars or the virtues of the track..there is a time and place for that ..I think we all have an idea what may have went wrong here and hopefully one can learn from it..so lets focus our thoughts and prayers with Jordan and the families involved...a very sad situation for sure...

    Mike,
If it were clearly understood it would not keep happening. Remember: Saturday is only 4 days away.

For those here who knew Jordan personally, I'm truly sorry for your loss. I have a similar story in my past and frankly am very grateful that people cared enough to offer sage advice immediately after my friend's death.

Showing respect for the death of a loved one is appropriate but don't think for one minute that it has to happen in a vacuum. Preserving the lives of the living is a far more important agenda.

Hearing how people have described Jordan I think he would agree.
