Boy, they are beautiful. What do the R and RS style vintage seats weigh? I didn't see this on their website. I'd go for the R seat.

Michael told me that my R and RS are 22 lbs

Ok, so Michael has been in contact and given me some options. I've now got decide which way to go, R or R2....
I think I'm favouring the R2 - I love the look of the old Scheel seats. Any advise would be great. The car is a 68S that I'm hoping to return closer to its original look but with a subtle club racer feel (that's how I see it in my head anyway).

You should contact John Audette. I believe he had vintage or real R2 seats in his '67 club racer......he also would run with an R seat and a factory sport seat for the passenger side. Here's a link that shows the car.

Does anyone know if Vintage seats are still in business?
I have made five attempts over the past few weeks, through four different avenues, to contact them, without any reply.
    Thanks, Rich,

I got mine a few months ago. They exceeded my high expectations, but it took almost a year, and I started getting worried that i had been taken...

Michael's work is absolutely top notch, but I did have some fitment issues which required me to enlarge some of the mounting holes....

I ended up selling the car to a friend with the new seats in them... and the wait and less than perfect communication gives me pause from ordering a second set for the longhood I kept...

Fixer, the website says each seat weighs 14 pounds each, in total these seats will save you sixty pounds.

A year wait? That really bums me out. From my research this brand of seats have the sharpest lines of any repop, by far. A year might be too long even for that level of quality.

I sent them an email over a month ago and haven't heard anything.

Can anyone here tell me if there's enough space to mount an MSD box under the R or RS seat?

Is it extremely problematic to get anything (luggage, kids) in or out of the back seat with these fixed backs?

    Thanks!

    Thanks for the replies.
It seems the consensus is that Vintage Seats are the best but what good is that if you can't get them.
    I'll explore other options.
