Thread: Non matching question

  1. #51
Interesting conversation, sounds like Frank found a pretty neat car-. From a collectors standpoint I get the numbers matching thing but this applies to less than 5% of the cars out there- for the other 95 % I am like Gib, I like hot rods much more than garage queens. I can't see engine serial number when I'm driving but I can feel additional performance of a hot rodded motor. It's funny to me that numbers matching obsession doesn't seem to apply to 356's any many other cars.

In 1988 my father made a present for me .A 2.4 s 1973.The car with 40000 original was bought from the first owner(a my father'sfriend)original interior ,undecoating, engine and trunk compartments never painted.Really a beautiful car.One problem broken case!!!!! Now i have after 26 year a beautiful car with a correct case for the year. What do you prefer a car like this or a rusty ,destroyed and after restored matching number car ? The problem is not matching or not matching but only the history of the car.
