    What about using 356 sound deadening material? You could probably find a piece large enough and use a heat gun to form it to shape. The pattern isn't 100% correct

    Hey Dudes!

    Looking for the Sombrero! Aka spare tire doughnut, aka tar paper. Bill Perrone no longer sells the material. Is anyone reproducing this part? For '65 in this case.

    SEMI BOB, thanks for tip but I'm afraid that Jiffy Seal won't cut the mustard. The original stuff has a fiber in it. I don't believe the cheese cloth would simulate that.

    no fiber in it Sir...its eighter the impression the fabric, used as mold release, left when preforming the stuff or when they applied it on the tank.

    have it all in the shelves material,molds,fabric,... but no time to move on with this...
    i would not wonder if someone else out there is working on this also
