Given lack of options and any real products from others this looks very nice. Even if not 100% perfect or original. Nice job.

    Deja Vu.

This reminds me of the days when we used to use Stoddard 356 floor pans because we “had no other options”.
That doesn’t necessarily make it acceptable.

I would rather not do anything and patiently wait for an exquisite product than use something that looks “close” to an uninformed eye. (Don’t take that personally; it’s just an opinion. And we’re all free to express them.)

Compare it to Scrogham’s which is the Gold Standard of sombreros. No comparison.

    Hallo Franz,
so which colour should we choose for an exact painting?
The tank of my car unfortunately is black now and I want to give it back in the original grey colour.

    Kind regards

i do have old standox paint chips and the perfect match was a colour from an french truck company called berliet...fregatten grau..but this colour has not been converted to modern paint material...so one can`t mix it anymore......

some say it is a RAL colour....nope it is not(at least not on those fuel tanks i compared )...but RAL 7001 and RAL7000 are close....i would try to mix those two clours 50/50 and see what happens.

side note1:recently my brother found my grand dads WW2 sunglasses...and the case they where in is exactly the same colour as the fuel tank...
side note 2: the webasto red is also a berliet colour ....same issue here ...not mixable

the tank was also „coated“ with this „emulsion“.
I cannot tell the origin...looked „real“ and untouched.
