    Had to share

    A couple of days ago we actually pulled this off an '05 997 that has a supercharger on it.





    Yes, that's a toilet shut off valve.

    Here's mine:

    That's a 901 throw out bearing guide tube with... a coke can used to create a new running surface on the tube. I have no idea how this didn't self destruct. The car has been off the road since '85 so that has helped. Probably a good thing too since the simplified diff was still simple and the stretch bolts didn't have a hell of a lot of life in the end nipples.

    My first thought is "why"? Even a ton-o-slop between bearing and sleeve won't cause binding on a 901. I suspect someone was chasing a diaphragm or cable problem.

    I'm guessing an engineer/owner was involved.

    That says alot about the rest of the supercharger install.

    The guide tube had a groove worn in it which was probably hang ing up the bearing
